No More Fooling Around

Today is April Fool’s Day. There will be lots of tom-foolery today, But I am not fooling around anymore on this blog.   Reason: I have  a problem.

The problem is a few months ago God really started to impress these words upon me through a mentor, “What have you done with what I gave you?”

That is a powerful question. Best I can tell there are several hundred people who read this blog regularly, several hundred people who visit every once in a while from twitter and Facebook and a few who pass by on a regular basis.

In the biz that is called a platform.  I have never seen my blog as a biz before.  In fact, truth be known I have thought about not blogging several times.  But then I asked myself, “what have you done with what I gave you” regarding that platform.  There is that biz term again.

To be honest.  Not a whole bunch.  In fact I would say I have pretty much been fooling around with blogging.  Starting today that stops.  You deserve more.  So I am either going to “go big or go home”.

So just so you will know here is the line-up.

Monday: “Smooth Moves”
A ton of bloggers tell you how great they are as leaders.  They are.  I read them too.  I am not.  I have made a ton of bone-headed mistakes over 17 years of being on a church staff and I think that every church staff member and volunteer needs to hear them on Monday to get over the weekend holy-hang-over.

Tuesday: “What is Seacoast Learning”
I will take some time on Tuesday to download what we are learning at Seacoast.  Hopefully you will gain some great ideas and also pay some “dumb tax” by not having to re-learn what we have already failed at.

Wednesday:  “I read stuff too”
Not only does ShawnWrite stuff, I read stuff too.  On Wednesday’s I will review something I have read (book, Blog, tweet, magazine article, clouds signals) that I think will be a win for you in Ministry.

Thursday:  “The unbook”
I plan on writing a book a year for as long as a publisher will print them.  For those who don’t know a lot about the book industry in a common year I am not writing a book about 7 months.  I still have thoughts that I would like to share, thus the unbook.

Friday: “Fun Family Foto”
I love my family.  I love fotos.  I love fun.

Saturday: “Scripture that reads me”
My second book “Wasabi Gospel” is about seven scriptures (sayings of Jesus) that literally punch you in the gut.  These are scriptures that “read you” rather than us always reading scripture.  I will be journaling more of these scriptures as I walk through “The Bible in 90 Days”.

Sunday:  “Churches that are Cool”
There are some very cool churches out there doing stuff that will never be published in a magazine, told about in the world of “top churches” or spoken about at a conference.  I plan on telling you about these churches cause I think they are cool.
