Give Her Back Her Jeans and Be a Man: Part One
I propose a ban on skinny (a.k.a. GIRL) jeans. Let’s just be honest - they do not look good on most “people,” much less a dude.

Ok…Now that every metrosexual male is ticked off at me, give me just a few minutes to explain.
The problem with dudes wearing girl jeans is not what is really bothering me (although I strongly suggest a wardrobe change). The real issue is that my generation of men has been so coddled and so protected that we not only wear girl jeans, but we also try and let the ladies around us wear our responsibilities as men in exchange. Kind of a, “Hey, I’ll take your jeans, and you take my manhood...” In my conversations with young ladies, there seem to be very few men willing to stand up and be the man that God has created them to be.
So regardless of whether or not you are actually wearing her jeans, let’s do this. Take your responsibilities back and be a man. How about this: single, dating, engaged, married guys – the women in your life need you to…
Be the protector. Not a wimp.
Be respectful. Not a caveman.
Be a provider. Not a taker.
Be honest. Not a liar.
Be helpful. Not another problem.
Be clean. Not a scruffy, dirty mess.
Be loving. Not just a wannabe lover.
I am not talking about hunting, fishing and watching NASCAR (not that there is anything wrong with that!), but simply being a responsible man and living out the real man code. Where did the man code go, anyway? Go and get some guy jeans, wake up at a reasonable hour, get a job and be a man.
When did it become acceptable for me to see a twenty-something couple out on a date with the girl dressed like she is going to see someone of importance while the guy has apparently skipped his weekly bath (again) and is wearing off the bottom of the drawer because Mama has not done his laundry yet?
I am calling for a ban on wimps, I guess – not so much girl jeans. Anyone with me?
And let’s give her back her pink shoes while we’re at it, if it’s all good with everyone else…

Go for it! Let’s beat up the wimps! j/k (maybe)
I want my pink shoes back
Another great post!
amen
I love the context of this, I definitely feel there is a problem in our society today and the way our children have been raised, to not understand roles and responsibility.
However I think it’s a little unfair to lump it with men/boys that wear skinny jeans My husband is all of the things listed here for me, he’s godly and the spiritual leader of our family, he loves our kids and works hard so that I can be a SAHM…and he also wears skinny jeans, although I would not classify him as a metrosexual…he doesn’t get facials or manicures, etc…he’s actually a rocker, and one of the most talented musicians to ever play for Seacoast.
Amy. Your husband sounds awesome. The Jeans thing was just hyperbole to make a point (hopefully humorously) Although I will say that I once wore tight-roll jeans in the 1980′s cause I wanted to be a rocker…I just wish someone would have had the guts to sit me down
Tell your hubby to rock-on with his bad self in his girl jeans as long as he is a man…
Shawn
Totally agree!!!
Just because a guy is wearing women jeans don’t make him a whimp ..
I wear women jeans but they fit really good and dont look like the guys in the skinny jeans. They do fit and feel way better . They look perfectly normal you should try some . A good pair is women levis 512 and 552 .. No one would know they are girl jeans if you have a pair that fits you . They feel way better than any mens jean.
I have many more women noticing me than ever before. And that is great , As far as a whimp goes . I may be wearing girl jeans but i can very easily handle myself , protect myself and my girl
